Our trip to New Zealand was nothing short of magical. Hunting red stag and fallow deer with my son Reed created moments I’ll treasure forever. My relationship with Gerhart Outdoors started more than 10 years ago, when Luke was able to salvage a previous hunt for me that I wasn’t able to take due to health issues. He went above and beyond to make, what at the time I thought was a once in a lifetime trip, come together. Since that time I have taken, on average, one trip a year all over the world through the unbelievable efforts of Gerhart Outdoors. I cannot speak highly enough about them. In the last couple of years, they have also managed hunting packages for me that my son has been able to go on and have treated him like one of the family. They have put us with some amazing outfitters and while I have enjoyed every one of them, I do see these as a reflection of Luke Gerhart and Gerhart Outdoors. Gerhart Outdoors made this hunt as good as it could be. This was my first guided hunt that I had been on, and Luke made it as easy as possible. He answered any question that I had and made sure that there was no confusion. He even invited me to his house to go over the hunt and what to expect. I cannot recommend Gerhart Outdoors enough!! Very professional through the whole process.
Once there in New Zealand, the hunting outfitter (Doddsy’s Hunting New Zealand) made this hunt everything that I could ask for. They are a family-based outfitter and they were awesome, Barry, Sandie & Tony are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. They have multiple properties to hunt based on what you are going after. I had 3 days to hunt but it only took 1, they put me on this Red Stag with exactly what I was looking for. I am looking forward to booking another hunt with them to go after a Tahr. Doddsy’s not only made my hunt everything I wanted but with the rest of the time I had there they took us around to take in New Zealand and all of the sites and adventures it offers. I highly recommend Gerhart Outdoors and Doddsy’s Hunting New Zealand, I Can’t say enough about how great they both are. Book a hunt with them, you will not regret it.

Hunting with Doddsy Outfitters was an amazing experience. Such a great family. Exceptional accommodations and outstanding food everyday. I’ve been a client of Luke’s now for almost eight years. In that time, I’ve been on about nine of his trips all over the world. Through Gerhart Outdoors I’ve been on turkey hunts, deer hunts, fishing trips, and waterfowl hunts. Every single time I’m at a fundraising event and I see the Gerhart Outdoors logo next to a trip I want to go on, I know the level of expertise and professionalism I can expect from start to finish in working with Luke. I’ve utilized Gerhart Outdoors Top Tier selection of the finest outfitters around the world multiple times and not once have I been disappointed. My most recent adventure took us to Canada for a Spring Bear Hunt. Roughly two hours north of Edmonton we spent the week with Fraser Bros Outfitting. The knowledge, lodging, meals, and guiding was extraordinary. Our group of 6 hunters harvested 9 bears over a 4 day period. I was fortunate to harvest a beautiful color phased boar on my last sit. Gerhart was proactive with planning the trip and never once have I felt uninformed or lack of communication. Luke is an incredible businessman and outdoorsman and I look forward to many more world wide adventures utilizing Gerhart Outdoors auction donations and opportunities wherever I may find them!

We bought our hunt through an auction without much of an idea of what we were getting ourselves into. From the first phone call Luke made him self available to answer any phone call or question we had. This continued no matter how dumb the question covering every part of our trip all the way until we were on the plane getting to the accommodations they helped us make. Ricus who runs White Lion was equally accommodating and helpful. We had an incredible host and professional hunters. A very fun experience that we will absolutely do again. Luke still is helping us get set up with brokers for shipping and potential taxidermist stateside. I would highly recommend Gerhart Outdoors and White Lion Safaris!

Our trip to South Africa went so smooth! We had no idea what we were doing and Gerhart Outdoors was so helpful letting us know what permits and paperwork we needed to get done and in what order. They approved all our paperwork beforehand so we wouldn’t run into any problems when we got to Africa. Our Outfitter was White Lion Safari and they took over everything from there and we were in another set of great hands. This was the trip of a lifetime for our family of 4, and my kids cannot stop talking about how much fun it was.

So my relationship with Luke started with buying a package at a charity event they donated to. We went on one of the hunts about a month ago to New Zealand. I was able to take my best friend and his wife along with my wife. We had the absolute best time you could imagine. We spent time with locals and in the field. We hunted with the Doddys family and they where amazing and so hospitable. It was more like a luxury vacation than a hunting trip, but don’t let that fool you! We walked 10 miles a day for three days stocking red stag hard having the time of our life. Luke really had the connections to make your hunting dreams a reality. Can’t wait to go to Ireland with them!! Also my wife is super excited about their new vacation planning services they are releasing!! It’s so much better to have a plan while traveling and Gerhart Outdoors makes it easy!

It doesn’t get any easier than Gerhart Outdoors. As simple as a phone call with a “Heya Luke, I want to hunt a great fallow buck!” and next thing I know I’ve got a plan in place.
